Claims Liaison

We are an employee benefits brokerage firm and we’re hiring a claims liaison who will provide group benefits support to clients and their employees. Responsibilities
  • Work directly with employees, dependents, customers, provider offices, and insurance carriers as an advocate for clients
  • Support clients and Michigan Planners team members by providing coverage and claims strategy advice
  • Analyze and interpret information to provide accurate conclusions for claims issues
  • Communicate claims issue updates to clients and internal team members effectively
  • Maintain and update the agency management system
  • Review member benefits to ensure claims have been processed accurately
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of Medical, Dental, Vison, Life, Disability and Worksite benefits, ERISA compliance, COBRA, and Health Care Reform
  • Build and maintain client and carrier loyalty by providing prompt, friendly service
  • Establish and cultivate cooperative working relationships with clients and their employees
  • Perform other tasks as needed
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of claims and benefit experience preferred
  • Proven background using Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office software
  • Contagious energy and leadership skills that portray confidence to your team members and clients
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills
  • A positive, professional, and upbeat phone demeanor
  • Experience with Zywave, Benefit Solver, and Employee Navigator software preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to self-manage and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Capacity to quickly learn new information and apply it to your daily work-life
  • A passion for providing a white glove level of customer service
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Education Required: High School Diploma/GED

  • Full-time, non-exempt position
  • Core Schedule: 8:30-4:30 Eastern Time

Client Relationship Manager

In this role, you will maintain a professional working relationship with the key contacts of the block of business assigned to you and successfully partner and provide recommendations to them on their employee benefits needs. You will work closely with our internal Enrollment, Plan Analyst, Compliance, and Claims teams to ensure updates to their accounts occur in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
  • 3-5 years of industry experience working in Client Services or as an Account Manager.
  • An ownership mentality, contagious energy, and leadership skills that portray confidence in your team members and clients.
  • A passion for providing a white glove level of customer service.
  • Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Experience with Zywave, BrokerageBuilder, and/or Employee Navigator strongly preferred.
  • Solid interpersonal, oral & written communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Able to successfully work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven background prioritizing and managing multiple projects & client needs concurrently.
  • Currently have or able to obtain a State of Michigan Life & Health Insurance License within 6 months of employment.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
